Vines. Some people see something gray and lifeless hanging from trees, but Kathy and her camera skillfully capture the weaving of dark crevices with brilliant light, revealing a phenomenom teeming with energy.
And if that is not enough, Kathy sometimes creates her own weaving, combining strips of the her high contrast photographs into a complex tapestry. Or intricate cutouts that are backed by richly colored handmade paper. Or collages that turn a barren vine into a leaf-adorned mosaic.

Colors are lusty in Connie's paintings, whether they are the primaries found on a kindergarten table, or mysterious metallics peeking through a purple haze.
Dimension, another quirk of her art, is sometimes created with an abundance of paint that is then scratched out to reveal another color beneath. Or perhaps a sculpted object comes literally out of the canvas.
Frequently nonsensical things happen. Why is an aligator on the back of a 3-D wren? Because the wren is 4 feet high and the aligator needs a ride.
